A Thought for Giving Love
So many of us worry and fear the uncertainty of the future. Our expectations are centered towards others meeting our needs, rather than us acting to meet the needs of our neighbors. Our thoughts turn into emotions, then to feelings of anxiousness. The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25) is an excellent example of GIVING LOVE.
So often we miss opportunities to reach out and GIVE LOVE. Loving your neighbor, that is the ultimate gift. In 2009 let's focus on renewing our minds! Let's shift our thoughts by focusing on ways to help others and by making it our mission to add to our tasks list, a kind hand written note of thanks. Instead of listening with our ears, try something else, open your heart and hear the other person's needs. Remember, there is power in silence. I am reminded daily how much beauty there is in our world. We need to see the beauty in everything. Focus on the good and keep the negativity away. It is much easier if you don't allow negative people or things to clutter your mind. WE all face challenges daily and also gain wisdom from these challenges. When you think about it, if you have no problems, you have a problem.....
If we begin to make these things our agenda, we will be focusing on the moment, rather than the future. In this process our own souls will be filled with LOVE.
